Culture of Peace and Liberatory Education (EDUC 6275) – graduate 3 credit course.
Seminar-workshop on the theories, practices and emerging lines of research, creation and action related to various critical, creative and liberatory pedagogies. Emphasis is given to differentiated, personalized and diverse learning experiences that provide for each student to undertake pertinent and innovative contributions that address the culture of violence in various educational scenarios. Special attention is awarded to the reflection-action-transformation process inherent to liberatory education in order to construct a theory of praxis in the context of proposing an emancipatory pedagogical project geared towards a culture of peace.
