Archbishop Soon-taick Chung suggested that North Korean children be invited to World Youth Day, held in Seoul. Sunshine Land: Where War is Actually a Game (South Korea)

Sixth grade students in S. Korea are outfitted with child-sized body armor, helmets, and orange pistol-shaped BB guns. Resembling mini riot cops, the kids, divided into two teams, skip and giggle their way into the newly opened Sunshine Land Military Experience Center to play a live action war experience called ‘survival game.’ In these military experience centers, where tourism, gaming, and military experience coalesce, activists face an uphill battle in their struggle for peace-oriented education.

400 Students & Teachers Participate in Pyeongchang Peace Education Festival

As part of the build-up to the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, the last week of May 2017 saw the launch of the Peace Education Festival. This five-day event, on 27-31 May, has been jointly organized by the Pyeongchang 2018 Organizing Committee (POCOG) and the Gangwon Provincial Office of Education (GPOE).
