In this Corona Connection, we introduce The Manifesto for a New Normality, a campaign by the Latin American Council for Peace Research (CLAIP), whose purpose is to generate a stream of critical opinion of normality prior to the pandemic. This campaign also aims to stimulate citizen commitment to the participative construction of a new just and necessary normality through awareness and collective reflection.
“Peacebuilding Through Dialogue” is a valuable collection of reflections on the meaning, complexity, and application of dialogue. The collection advances our understanding of dialogue and its applicability in multiple and diverse contexts. This review essay by Dale Snauwaert summarizes specific reflections of dialogue in the domains of education, followed by a reflection on the dialogical turn in moral and political philosophy.
In November 2015, ISDP in conjunction with the Myanmar Minerva Education Center conducted a peace education training workshop in Kayin State in the southeast of Myanmar. Aimed at increasing local understanding of the peace process among a variety of stakeholders, ISDP’s local office in Yangon reflects on the significance of the workshop against the backdrop of the signing of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement and the NLD’s victory in the general elections.
