The Global Alliance for Ministries and Infrastructures for Peace Latin America and Caribbean Chapter (GAMIP LAC), made international history in the construction of Ministries of Peace by presenting the proposal to create this institution to the Senate of Colombia. The proposal, which prioritizes the need for peace education, is now available for reading.
Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Global Studies Center are helping lead an initiative to create a metropolitan peace education initiative. The goal: create a peace studies ecosystem in Atlanta that spans schools and disciplines such as engineering, health sciences, and humanities, and social sciences.
Nearly 50 practitioners, activists, educators, trainers, funders, and researchers in the peacebuilding field gathered at George Mason University’s Point of View Retreat Center to explore “Innovating in Challenging Times: Building an Infrastructure for Supporting Peace.” The aim of the gathering was to identify knowledge, resources, and innovation opportunities to advance solutions that address current and future challenges, taking a proactive approach to peacebuilding.
