Rethinking higher education in the service of humanity

The chief aim of this research is to work at the intersection of educational policy, practice and theory for the betterment of higher education. Within this broad context, findings show that higher education has experienced three major paradigm shifts that are interdependent and mutually reinforcing: 1)The development of lifelong learning as a human right, 2) the democratisation of knowledge, and, 3) the development of the global knowledge society.
