Peace Boat US is excited to announce the launch of a new series of programs as part of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development to be held onboard Peace Boat. Highlighting the theme of this year’s UN World Oceans Day: “Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing,” we seek to raise awareness about Life Below Water and encourage positive action for our blue planet.
Peace Boat, which holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations (ECOSOC), invites youth leaders from around the world, working towards sustainability in their home communities, to travel onboard, engaging in capacity building, citizen science programs and experiences in the ports of call that enrich their understanding of marine science and climate action on a global scale. Scholarship Program
The 2023 “Youth for the SDGs” scholarship program for the United Nations Ocean Decade will take place on Peace Boat’s 114th Global Voyage onboard the Pacific World ship for its inaugural visit to the Arctic and Latin America.
- Applicants between the ages of 18 – 30 years old are eligible for the scholarship.
- The Program cost for each voyage is $5000 USD and Scholarships are available on a needs basis (*not including international flights and travel insurance)
Registration and optional scholarship application deadline is midnight EST (NYC time), April 30, 2023.
