On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, all roads will lead to Sacred Heart Seminary, Rumuibekwe, Port Harcourt, Nigeria for the Launch of the नाइजेरिया नेटवर्क र शान्ति शिक्षा को लागी अभियान. This network will bring teachers, practitioners, and advocates together to learn, strategize, and take collective action to pursue a culture of peace through peace education in Nigeria.
शान्ति शिक्षा भनेको के हो?
Peace education provides the tools and skills needed for solving the problems of violence in human societies; making them less violent, more peaceful, and just. Peace education means different things to different people; it serves different purposes based on need, the time, and the people. There is no generic model for peace education. However, there are embodiments that each program should contain or accommodate. The contents should include creating a peaceable climate, and enhancing skills and knowledge for nonviolent conflict management, peacemaking, and peacebuilding. Effective peace education is based on the realities of the specifics of the intended participants. The essence is that the context and geographical realities should be an important consideration; the intended audience is an essential component with respect to age, social status, and environment, as well as various interrelationships to achieve the transformation envisaged in the society.
Initial Exploratory Goals
The Nigeria Network and Campaign for Peace Education, with input from its members, will pursue the following goals:
- विश्वव्यापी सबै स्कूलहरूमा अनौपचारिक शिक्षालगायत शिक्षाको सबै क्षेत्रमा शान्ति शिक्षाको लागि जनचेतना र राजनीतिक समर्थन निर्माण गर्ने;
- शान्ति शिक्षामा प्रभावकारी शिक्षक प्रशिक्षणको विकासलाई समर्थन र प्रबर्धन गर्ने
- शान्ति शिक्षामा राष्ट्रिय कानूनको प्रभावकारी कार्यान्वयनको प्रबर्धन गर्ने।
- आधारभूत र समुदायमा आधारित शान्ति शिक्षा प्रयासहरूको समर्थन गर्नुहोस्
- शान्ति शिक्षा पाठ्यक्रमको विकास जुन नाइजेरियाको विभिन्न भागहरूमा विशेष संकटहरूमा विशेष प्रतिक्रिया गर्दछ
Join the Nigeria Network and Campaign for Peace Education!
In this respect, we are calling on all practitioners and advocates of peace education in Nigeria to join together in a network to share ideas on promoting and developing our campaign on peace education. We are officially affiliated with the शान्ति शिक्षाको लागि विश्वव्यापी अभियान. We will be setting up a page on CHDST (Centre for Social Transformation and Human Development ) website for members. As we map our members and decide on the next steps, we might categorize our activities into the following thematic areas:
- शिक्षक प्रशिक्षण
- स्कूलमा आधारित शान्ति शिक्षा
- अनौपचारिक / समुदाय आधारित शिक्षा
- युवा शान्ति निर्माण
- नीति / वकालत
These groups are not cast in stone and can be changed as membership grow.
