Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy seeks Executive Director

New York City-based Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy seeks a half-time—with potential to be full-time, depending on funding—executive director. Total compensation at a $25,000 annual rate (half-time).

The LCNP executive director leads advocacy efforts for the abolition of nuclear weapons through respect for international and domestic law and is responsible for all aspects of LCNP operations—including fundraising, program, organization administration—under the guidance of an Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.

*Fundraising responsibilities include: donor communications, engagement, and appeals; grant applications and reports. This role will have a particular focus on finding and securing new, major grants of both general operating support and project-based funding.

*Administrative responsibilities include: managing the use of midtown co-working space; payroll and tax reporting; bookkeeping, working with a contractor; preparation of Board and other organizational meetings; managing UN accreditation and headquarters passes.

*Program, supported by a contractor expert, includes: monitoring and advocacy as to the United Nations, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, and international law; U.S. national advocacy; research, writing, and production of publications; media engagement; event organization; supervise interns, fellows, and volunteers; conduct outreach to lawyers; participate in nuclear disarmament networks and collaborate with partner organizations; serve as director of UN Office of International Association of Lawyers Against Nuclear Arms.
