Herstory Writers Workshop, an organization devoted to using personal memoir to change hearts, minds and policies, working in the schools, in the jails, and in the community, is seeking a seasoned part-time associate director with a strong track record in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, program and partnership development.
The new hire will join our founder and executive director in the stewardship and implementation of our 25th anniversary special programming and projects, engaging marginalized communities in the arena of immigrant, racial, criminal, health and environmental justice, as we enter our second quarter-century.
This will be a three-day-a-week position with the opportunity to grow it to full time, with a starting salary of 45 to 50k, depending on level of experience, including health benefits.
The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running, in sharing responsibility for smooth operation of the organization and for staff supervision – with guidance from the Executive Director. We are particularly seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in writing and/or literature, representing the communities we serve.
If interested, please send an email to Erika Duncan, our executive and artistic director at [email protected] telling us about yourself and your work experience, and anything else that you would like to share.
