Get Them ALL Out!!! 4 simple things everyone can do now.

Every Afghan citizen at-risk – women, men, children, the old, those with disabilities – has a right to claim asylum. We must get them all out. Full and complete evacuation is a moral and practical imperative. Here are 4 simple actions everyone can take to support this effort.

Get Them ALL OUT !!!!

As we watch the lethal chaos at the Kabul airport, tempted to give in to despair, we seek to find ways to act to overcome this horrendous situation, raising our voices to demand safe evacuation for all in mortal danger.

Here are 4 simple things you can do right now to raise your voice and call others to raise theirs:

  1. Download and fill in the letter template below (fill in your country and your name).
  2. Look up the name and email address of the Ambassador of your country to the United Nations, and email them a copy of the filled-in letter.
  3. Look up the name and email address of your Minister/Secretary of Foreign Affairs, and email them a copy of the filled-in letter.
  4. Send this message on to as many people as possible who may care and act. Send by whatever form of media you regularly use.

Thank you for raising your voice in an act of solidarity and global community responsibility.

Get Them ALL Out!!!

Every Afghan citizen at-risk – women, men, children, aged, those with disabilities – has a right to claim asylum.  It is commendable that the US has enlisted commercial airlines to ferry people from the present evacuation sites to points of settlement.  However, thousands more remain outside the airport and throughout the country in fear of their lives. The international community – the United States and NATO nations in particular – hold the responsibility to make it possible for them to live. The future of the country may well lie in saving the lives of those who one day could return to rebuild the country that they worked so hard to bring into the 21st century international community. We must get them all out. Full and complete evacuation is a moral and practical imperative.

As a citizen of [your country], I urge my government to work independently, with other nations and through the United Nations to evacuate all seeking to leave Afghanistan. We plead for the assurance that:

  • The Kabul airport will be kept open until evacuations are completed;
  • That safe corridors and transportation to the airport will be set up;
  • That borders will be opened to allow for overland egress to other countries and safe transportation thereto be provided;
  • That all bordering countries, countries currently hosting evacuation sites and other countries to which flights might be made, welcome and provide temporary care for evacuees;
  • That “paperwork” for visas be simplified for the emergency, and documentation centers for this purpose be set up at the airport and at border sites where egress is possible.

Respectfully requested,
