The Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs (the “Center”) seeks a more just and peaceful world by deepening knowledge and solving problems at the intersection of religion and global affairs through research, teaching, and engaging multiple publics. Two premises guide the center’s work: that a comprehensive examination of religion and norms is critical to address complex global challenges, and that the open engagement of religious and cultural traditions with one another can promote peace. To this end, the center engages students, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners in analysis of and dialogue on critical issues in order to increase the public understanding of religion.

The Director of Student Programs (“DSP”) manages the Center’s curricular and co-curricular offerings and other student-oriented programs. Broadly, this includes recruiting undergraduates into the Center’s Religions, Ethics, and World Affairs (“REWA”) minor, offered by Georgetown College and the School of Foreign Service, and serving as these students’ academic advisor with regard to program requirements and professional development; overseeing the Center’s signature student programs, which include a summer global research experience for undergraduates (the Education and Social Justice Project, “ESJ”) and programming related to the Doyle Engaging Difference Program (“Doyle Program”), such as the Junior Year Abroad Network (“JYAN”); supporting the Managing Director in the organization and implementation of Doyle Faculty Seminars; leading the development and implementation of new student programs and co-curricular offerings, often in collaboration with community or campus partners. S/he may occasionally teach 1- or 3-credit courses depending upon candidate qualifications and department interest/needs.

I am highly enthused to express my glad intent to serve Georgetown University as Director of Students Program.I am an African from Nigeria with strong passion for peace building activity in parts of the world where this is greatly in need. A professional teacher with experience in Peace education among high school scholars in my country Nigeria and a teacher of English Language, passionate about working with and among young people. With a bachelors degree in Linguistics,a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Masters Degree in Law and Diplomacy,I am confident that I would serve meritoriously if given the opportunity.
I hence express my willingness to present my self for further scrutiny if the need arises.
    Yours faithfully.
