Against the backdrop of increasing polarization, violence, hate speech, xenophobia and discrimination, this webinar will help us reflect on the role of education in addressing the current societal issues we face and shed light on concrete recommendations and ideas to transform education.<

In particular, the webinar will:
✔️ Reflect on the importance of education that promotes inter-cultural and inter-faith learning, dialogue, ethical reflections and collective actions by children.
✔️ Identify opportunities to transform education to contribute to global citizenship and peaceful and inclusive societies.
✔️ Explore the lessons learned from countries integrating ethics education programs to respond to the social issues children face in their contexts.

Our discussion will feature insights from expert speakers representing the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, the UN-mandated University for Peace (UPEACE), the Ministry of Education in Seychelles, and the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO. The event will be moderated by the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa and will include an interactive Q&A session, allowing you to engage the speakers and ask questions.

This webinar is organized under the Ethics Education Fellowship, a remarkable collaborative initiative promoted by the Ministries of Education of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Mauritius, Nepal, and Seychelles, as well as the respective UNESCO National Commissions, with strong support from Arigatou International, the International Dialogue Center – KAICIID, the Guerrand-Hermes Foundation for Peace, the Muslim Council of Elders, the UNESCO New Delhi Office, and the UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa.
