Global Solutions Lab 2021
June 13, 2021 - June 26, 2021$250
A Lab for developing the means to:
“Make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible time through spontaneous cooperation without ecological offense or disadvantage of anyone.” – Buckminster Fuller
The 2021 two-week online Global Solutions Lab is in its 17th year. It is generally focused on making real the above quote of Buckminster Fuller, and specifically, on developing strategic solutions for reaching the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Format: This year the Lab is in two parts:
- The first, from June 13–June 18, begins with the interactive global simulation WorldGame 2.0 and is followed by a series of self-directed and on-line activities that include video lectures by Buckminster Fuller and other pioneers of design science, sustainable and regenerative development, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and innovative solutions to global and local problems. Other activities during this period will be fun explorations related to the state of the planet, personal interests, and some surprises.
- The second part of the Lab, June 19–June 26, focuses on developing strategies and solutions for reaching the UN SDGs. It is a collaborative design team creative effort that culminates in a presentation of the Lab’s work to a group of UN, corporate, philanthropic and NGO leaders. This part of the Lab will feature live presentations by UN and other experts in sustainable development, the SDGs, and specific areas on which this year’s Lab will focus.
- Participants will learn a powerful strategic design and planning methodology that they will use to develop their solutions.
- Tuition: $250.
- The number of participants in the Lab will be limited. The sooner we hear from you the better.
