Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace seeks Executive Director (University of Notre Dame)
The Executive Director of the Kroc Institute advances the mission and strategic objectives of the Institute through leadership on operational and administrative matters. The Kroc Institute is one of the world’s leading centers for the study of the causes of violent conflict and strategies for sustainable peace (kroc.nd.edu). The Institute offers programs of study at the doctoral, masters, and undergraduate levels. Its faculty and fellows conduct interdisciplinary research on a wide range of topics, including strategic peacebuilding, peace accords and peace process, and the role of religion in conflict and peacebuilding.
The Executive Director reports to the Regan Director of the Kroc Institute, who provides intellectual leadership and determines the overall goals and strategy for the Institute. Working in close collaboration with the Regan Director, the Executive Director operationalizes the Institute’s strategy and ensures ongoing academic and programmatic excellence through oversight of human resources, finance, operational planning, and strategic initiatives of the Institute. Although not a requirement of the position, candidates with appropriate educational backgrounds, experience and interest may be considered for teaching or mentoring opportunities through the Keough School.
