Call for Participants: Study on Implementing Principles of Global Citizenship Education into University Curricula

Dear faculties, program directors/chairs and educators working in Higher Education, my name is Emiliano Bosio and I am the Principal Investigator for the doctoral study titled “Implementing Principles of Global Citizenship Education into University Curricula”. I am working with Dr. Douglas Bourn, my adviser at the Institute of Education – University College London. I am requesting your participation in a survey about global citizenship undergraduate/graduate programs launched across Japan, the United States and Europe.

Based on a qualitative-comparative research approach, the study will examine examples of universities’ graduate and undergraduate curriculum approaches on global awareness-related subjects to identify how they address Global Citizenship Education, particularly the extent to which they are interdisciplinary, and encourage both a sense of global outlook and social responsibility.

Following up your response, what I would like to do in the first instance is share with you a survey-questionnaire, which could take about 20-25 minutes to fill in to gain some baseline data about your courses/programs who have some form of global citizenship elements. This may then be followed up with an interview (Skype or face-to-face). Please note that your involvement in both the survey and interview will be anonymous and voluntary, and results will not include your name.
